This role will be responsible for providing the operational, commercial, and technical support lead for the Customers and Service Support Team, as part of the Customer Service matrix of functions, responsibilities, and tasks. This position reports directly to the Director of Customer Service, in Canada.

Your role in our team

  • You will provide commercial and technical support to the Customer Service Support team.
  • You will provide technical support, training, coaching, and direction to Customer Service Technicians, related to tools and procedures.
  • You will provide technical support, training, coaching, and direction to end user maintenance, operator personnel, and other Technicians, utilizing standardized maintenance and troubleshooting practices as applicable.
  • You will travel as required to customer sites to perform service support and training duties.
  • You will provide escalation-based technical support and emergency response for critical breakdowns for company remote and onsite teams.
  • You will be responsible for the content of the customer-specific Support Services Databank.
  • You will work with other internal employees, external service providers, or vendors to support the content of the Service Databank.
  • You will provide commercial support in the preparation of proposals related to CS projects including spares, upgrades, migrations, and modernizations.
  • You will conduct and coordinate on-site data collection, and data analysis related to the Asset Life Cycle Assessment Program.
  • You will provide technical guidance and recommendations on the data insight derived from the Asset Life Cycle Assessment Program.
  • You will represent the Company at customer premises in a professional manner at all times.
  • You will help identify additional opportunities including time and material work, and system extensions. upgrades, and service contact expansions.
  • You will comply with all company policies, procedures, and practices through consistent work practices.
  • You will ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct.
  • You will adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act at all times.
  • You will work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • You will report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
  • You will attend all required health, safety, and environmental training.
  • You will report any accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
  • You will complete appropriate company documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • You will ensure that all test equipment and tools issued by the Company are maintained in good condition, kept secure, and tested.
  • You will attend personal training programs.
Your Profile
  • You have obtained a Technology Degree or Diploma in electrical, controls, automation, mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education.
  • You have gained 5+ years of experience related to hands-on service and maintenance supervision specializing in electrical, and mechanical systems within an industrial automation environment and parcel logistics domain.
  • You have current experience/certification with Siemens PLC language programming, architecture, and networks. Other control platforms are a plus.
  • You are knowledgeable and experienced working with industrial control/IT networks - Profinet, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
  • You have experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, and electrical power distribution systems.
  • You have experience with conveyor systems (Parcel, Mail) including BarCode and Vision systems.
  • You are capable of reading and understanding electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and reference manuals, and systems instruction guides.
  • You have a strong understanding of control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience within the logistics domain desirable.
  • You have strong mechanical, electrical, control, and automation troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • You are experienced in applying complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular area of specialization.
  • You are fluent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project), and SAP.
  • You have a strong command of the English language with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • You are self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges and tasks.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • You are dependable with a great work ethic and attendance.
  • You can work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • You have experience establishing a good working relationship with all customers and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • You have a driving license in good standing is essential.
  • You can travel to customer sites.
