Inventory Planning & Control

Own inventory accuracy and integrity within the ERP system Ensure sufficient raw material inventory to support production while avoiding excess stock Establish and maintain calculated reorder points, order quantities, and safety stock levels Apply inventory best practices such as EOQ and demand-based planning where appropriate Monitor inventory trends and proactively address shortages or overstock risks Support and coordinate cycle counts and inventory discrepancy resolution

Technical & Quality Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications Review and maintain material certifications (e.g., mill test reports) Support ISO 9001 purchasing, inventory, and quality processes

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Estimating, and Shipping & Receiving Support non-standard jobs by coordinating material readiness and supplier timing Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders regarding inventory status and material risks

Systems & Continuous Improvement

Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier data in the ERP system Analyze usage, lead times, and supplier performance to support better decisions Identify gaps or inefficiencies in purchasing and inventory processes and propose improvements

Are technically curious and comfortable working with data and specifications Enjoy getting into the details and building systems that work Are highly organized and reliable, with strong follow-through Are comfortable using ERP systems and Excel Take ownership and are willing to step beyond a narrow job description when needed Want to grow your skills and responsibility as the company grows

Preferred Experience & Background

2-5 years experience in purchasing, inventory planning, materials management, or manufacturing operations Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred Post-secondary education in supply chain, engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or a related field is an asset Familiarity with inventory planning concepts (EOQ, reorder points, safety stock) is an asset Familiarity with ISO 9001 or quality systems is an asset
