Position Summary

We're looking for a strong
Technical
Business Systems Analyst (BSA)
who thrives at the intersection of
business and technology
. This role is
cloud-first (AWS preferably)
,
API-heavy,
working with
data modeling
and
robotic process automation (RPA)
.
You'll play a key role in
designing and delivering integrations, automation, and data solutions
that actually move the needle for our clients.
That means you'll go beyond writing requirements.
You'll stay engaged end-to-end, supporting design, testing, and delivery to make sure what's built truly delivers value.
This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, requiring at least two days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities
========================
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
--------------------------------------
Partner with stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into clear, actionable technical requirements.
Document API, RPA, and data integration specs (authentication, payloads, transformations, error handling).
Analyze business processes and identify automation opportunities using RPA.
Facilitate workshops to align business goals with technical design.
API, Data & RPA Design
---------------------------
Define and validate RESTful/SOAP API specs.
Design data models, schemas, and entity relationships to support integration and analytics.
Build data flow diagrams, mappings, and transformation rules.
Collaborate with RPA developers to design efficient automation workflows.
Ensure designs meet standards for scalability, performance, and security.
System Integration & Delivery
----------------------------------
Lead the implementation of API- and RPA-based integrations across enterprise and third-party systems.
Work with API gateways and middleware ( API Gateway, MuleSoft, Apigee, etc.).
Validate ETL processes and pipelines for accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate with architects to align with enterprise patterns and reference architectures.
Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop and execute test plans (functional, regression, performance) for APIs and RPA workflows.
Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, Selenium to validate behavior.
Troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolution across dev, QA, and architecture teams.
Documentation & Governance

Maintain API catalogs, RPA workflow libraries, data dictionaries, and system diagrams.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
Provide support for release management and change control.
Qualifications
==================
Technical Skills
--------------------
5+ years of experience as a BSA, Systems Analyst, or similar role with focus on APIs, data modeling, and system integrations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Strong understanding of Cloud native services (preferably AWS), serverless/microservices architectures, and event-driven design.
Strong knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks (Jira, Confluence, Scrum, Kanban).
Strong hands-on experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth/OpenID.
Experience with API management tools (API Gateway, MuleSoft, Apigee).
Experience designing and validating ETL processes, data pipelines, and integration workflows.
Experience in data modeling, relational databases, and SQL (MySQL preferred).
Familiarity with RPA technologies (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or equivalent).
Knowledge of system integration patterns and middleware technologies.
