Job Description

Location: Montreal (Day 1 onboarding onsite / in office presence 3x week)
Role Profile: The ideal candidate should be a self-driven, dedicated individual with strong design and coding skills, who will work with Risk and Compliance to building surveillance models. This role requires comprehensive knowledge in SDLC lifecycle, which includes software design, back end and front-end development, and DevOps automation.
This individual will work with fellow Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, DevOps and other teams in understanding surveillance model requirements, designing, implementing, and testing surveillance models in fast paced agile manner. In addition this individual should have strong interpersonal skills and feel comfortable working on a dynamic team.
Skills Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
2. At least 5 years of experience in global organizations as a Technical Business Analyst
3. Proficiency in Data Analysis with the understanding of business requirements
4. Working experience in SQL, relational databases and data presentation
5. Established technical knowledge in software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; as well as work in an international team setting.
7. Collaborate effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions and roles.
8. Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks assigned.
9. Ability to problem solve and have creative solutions in challenging environments
10. Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy, demanding and team-orientated environment
11. Manage and delegate workload through the team
12. Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations gracefully.
13. Experience in trade lifecycles and asset classes, Equity, Fixed Income, Options, Futures
Skill Desired:
1. Understanding of Compliance surveillance platforms (Actimize) and their models, Wash trades, Marking the Open/Close, Spoofing, Insider Trading, etc
2. IT Project Management and SDLC knowledge/experience (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum) and experience using BDD
3. Experience working in medium to large-scale development projects
4. Knowledge of trades data, positions data, reference data
5. Experience in Nasdaq SMARTS platform
