We are seeking a candidate to provision and support the RWI platform for both internal and external users. RWI and customers primarily host this experience on-premises, and this position requires occasional and as-needed travel to our hosting facilities in Edmonton, to our offices, and to a hosting facility.



At RWI, we use Mac and UNIX, and we have a history of creating and applying our own leading tools for software development, systems administration, and agent-based monitoring and healing of our on-prem and co-located internal systems and networks. What You'll Do




Lead and contribute to innovative projects that deliver real-world impact. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create solutions that exceed expectations. Combine creativity and technical expertise to tell compelling stories with data. Participate in team education, knowledge sharing, and process improvement. Systems and Network Architecture: + Design, deploy, and maintain robust network and system architectures to support scalable, secure, and high-performance operations.
+ Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network and system performance.
Data Privacy and Security: + Implement and enforce data privacy protocols to safeguard sensitive customer and organizational data.
+ Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
+ Work toward achieving widely recognized corporate security certifications to validate the security of our servers, services, and key assets.
+ Create, maintain, and monitor systems and processes for internal and customer security, confidentiality and usage compliance
Essential IP and Source Code Protection: + Safeguard essential intellectual property, including source code and corporate competitive assets, by implementing stringent access controls and security measures.
+ Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Authentication and Authorization: + Develop and manage secure methods for authentication and authorization for accessing data and executing models.
+ Collaborate with development teams to integrate secure identity management systems into our services.
Knowledge and Data Management: + Manage and secure the data library and knowledge repository, ensuring it is accessible and reliable for internal teams and clients.
+ Maintain proper versioning, access control, and backup for organizational data assets.
Corporate Asset Management: + Oversee the organization, security, and accessibility of the company's data library and knowledge repository.
+ Ensure proper version control, backups, and access protocols for critical corporate assets.
Provision highly-available systems that run service APIs Instrument and monitor systems, networks, and APIs in deployment Catalogue, meter, measure, monitor, and continuously improve the distributed infrastructure of machines and mission-critical service APIs Apply C, shell, containers, linux/ unix/ gnu toolchain to automate monitoring and administration Apply the RWI API in C, shell, linux/ unix, python, and containers toolchains to maintain and extend the provisioned APIs Troubleshoot, diagnose, debug and repair service APIs and underlying applications Program routine fixes and enhancements to existing service APIs and applications Maintain internal branches of github tools Maintain and extend the build toolchain for the extensive RWI codebase Work and support the work of our game engine developers as needed



What You'll Bring




Technical Expertise: + In-depth knowledge of Mac, linux, and unix network administration, system architecture, and cloud technologies
+ Strong expertise in firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security tools.
+ Experience with data encryption, secure authentication protocols, and access control systems.
Data Security and Privacy: + Deep understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Programming and Scripting: + Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and system management.
Problem-Solving and Analysis: + Strong analytical skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network and system issues.
+ Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
Collaboration and Communication: + Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and compliance, to align infrastructure needs with organizational goals.
+ Clear communication skills to document processes and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills: + Proficient in C/C++ and other relevant programming languages.
+ Strong knowledge of 3D math, algorithms, and data structures.
+ Familiarity with scripting languages for rapid prototyping.
+ Background in machine learning or procedural content generation.
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
