We have an ambitious plan to improve our business that spans functional areas such as people & safety, enterprise asset management, customer experience, terminal operations and much more.We are looking for a proactive and experienced Technical Application Owner to oversee our Financial ERP and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) applications. You are a seasoned professional with a passion for Finance and FP&A applications. You thrive in driving significant improvements in business processes through the effective use of technology such as ERP, Cloud, RPA and AI.As a Technical Application Owner, you are responsible for the end-to-end management and optimization of our application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, streamline processes, and implement innovative solutions that support our strategic objectives.The RoleReporting to the Manager, IT, you add value to the organization by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Leading the technical ownership and roadmap for financial ERP and FP&A applications, ensuring stability, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet operational needs
  • Managing the full lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
  • Driving integration efforts between financial ERP application and other enterprise applications, such as Oracle Purchasing, IBM Maximo, Oracle HR/Payroll, CRM and more, to ensure seamless data flow and operational efficiency
  • Establishing and implementing best practices in application development, configuration management, and deployment processes
  • Monitoring system performance and security, proactively addressing issues and implementing enhancements to optimize application performance
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to application support teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
What you bring to the teamYour qualifications are tailored to ensure seamless enhancement and optimization of financial and FP&A applications such as Oracle EBS, Perceptive Content, Workday Adoptive Planning, fostering operational excellence and efficiency within our organization.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Application Owner, or similar role with a focus on accounting, financial ERP and FP&A applications
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and finance management processes, including general ledger, cash management, payable, receivable, fixed asset, budgeting and forecasting management. Capable of analyzing requirements and translating them into practical solutions
  • Extensive experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and financial budgeting & reporting tools, including setup, customization, and integration. Experience with Workday Adoptive Planning or Oracle Enterprise Performance Management application would be an asset
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing IT initiatives including Oracle Financials, Oracle Project Accounting and any budgeting & forecasting application implementations and upgrades. Minimum 3 complete and successful implementation projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and explain technical concepts clearly. Proficient in creating clear documentation for system configurations and user training
  • Proficiency in using PL/SQL, Unix Shell, and development tools, as well as adhering to relevant coding standards necessary for application development
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira) is a plus
  • Experience with Oracle cloud applications, RPA, AI and/or APEX would be an asset
