Client's Global Technology Services (GTS), Infrastructure Operations team is expanding to strengthen support for critical banking applications and iSeries systems. With growing demands across Canadian & International Banking and Wealth Management, the team requires a seasoned professional to ensure stability, performance, and continuous improvement of infrastructure operations.
Business group: Global Technology Services (GTS) - Infrastructure Operations
Project: Support and maintain iSeries Operating Systems, server hardware, and third-party software tools. Provide application support, incident resolution, and change management for production deployments while contributing to cross-training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Typical Day in Role:
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for multiple servers/LPARs
Coordinate iSeries hardware upgrades, OS updates, and PTFs across teams
Participate in change management for production deployments
Address incidents and service requests via ticketing systems
Support and learn banking applications to provide application-level assistance
Perform tasks related to job scheduling, report distribution, and performance reporting
Engage in cross-training sessions with team members on System i administrative tasks
Document and maintain procedures for system utilities, performance tuning, and environment configuration
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
5+ years of experience as a technical analyst
5+ Working knowledge of MQ, Connect Direct, BRMS, GoAnywhere, Dynatrace, CL, SQL
3+ years of hands-on technical experience with iSeries hardware/software installation, configuration, and maintenance
3+ years of experience administering LPARs and managing OS/application software releases (Load/Apply/Validate patches)
3+ Strong knowledge of System i security and Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) support
3+ Experience with job scheduling/report distribution tools (Robot Scheduler, IBM Job Scheduler, Robot Report, etc.)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
Experience with performance tuning and environment configuration
Exposure to financial services or banking applications
Soft Skills Required:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and proven project management experience
Eagerness to learn and adapt in an agile environment
Detail-oriented and proactive mindset
Education & Certificates:
Bachelor's in computer science or related field
Relevant certifications
