WRD Canada is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented?Technical?Administrative Assistant?to?support?our engineering operations. This hybrid role combines?administrative responsibilities?with?technical support, offering an exciting opportunity for someone with CAD skills who is also organized, communicative, and eager to take ownership of internal coordination tasks.
You will handle daily administrative tasks, assist in project tracking and documentation, and provide backup CAD drafting?support?as needed. This is an ideal role for a junior CAD technician or architectural technologist looking to expand into project coordination or office management in the future.
Administrative Duties (approx. 50-60%)
Prepare and format reports, letters, and internal documents.
Organize project files, drawing packages, and revisions.
Track timesheets, expense reports, and basic invoices.
Maintain digital and physical filing systems.
Prepare shipping tickets, receive incoming shipments, and monitor inventory levels.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project financial worksheets and budget tracking.
Help track client billing, payments, and related documentation.
Technical?/ CAD?Support?(approx. 40-50%)
Provide backup?support?for CAD drawing updates and markups.
Assist with preparing drawing sets, templates, and?technical?submittals.
Help maintain drawing organization, standard naming, and version control.
Coordinate with engineers and drafters to?support?project deliverables.
Assist in reviewing and summarizing tender documents, and help compile complete submission packages.
Qualifications
Diploma in CAD Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Tech, or related field.
2+ years of experience in a CAD-related role, with some?admin?or coordination exposure preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative office environment.
Bonus Assets
Experience in the timber or structural engineering field.
Familiarity with project tracking tools or invoicing systems.
Basic understanding of engineering documentation.
