Summary





Reporting to the Team Leader and Line Leader, the Packaging Operator is responsible for operating the packaging machinery and / or any applicable machinery. The Packaging Operator will also work closely and provide backup as needed to the Team Leader in order to ensure the packaging line produces a conisistent product in a timely manner that meets all standards.



In this position you will work in a team environment led by a Team Leader. You will support your Team Leader by demonstrating and practicing team work every day and respect all your fellow Team Members.

Primary Reponsibilities

Assists the Team Leader in fostering an environment of mutual respect and teamwork Leads, coaches, mentors and trains other Team Members as needed by the Team Leader Verifying proper packaging materials and ensuring proper product is being placed within the packaging Operates and manages labelling machine efficiently Responsible for controlling Critical Control Point (Date Coder, Metal Detector, UV Light, etc.) Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system) Follows VQS (visual quality standards) Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing FGF standards & follows-up on inspections Reports any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate parties Cleans up the area during and after shift is over Supports return to stock and returns packaging materials after production is done Follows all GMP's and Safety Procedures as outlined by FGF May be asked by Shift Leader to perform general labor duties when needed as well as be assigned additional duties

Required Experience:





Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery experience is desirable) Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a quality issue Good communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physically capable of performing the demands of the role including frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed
