OVERVIEW:




As the successful candidate, you will lead and establish Alberta Blue Cross's Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program, building and managing a high-performing automation team. You will be responsible for the strategic implementation of Microsoft Power Automate platform and drive enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives. You will utilize your extensive RPA expertise to deliver scalable, cost-effective automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and improve customer experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:



Lead the development and execution of the enterprise RPA strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable ROI. Build, mentor, and manage a team of RPA developers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Serve as the technical authority and platform owner for Microsoft Power Automate, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with enterprise standards. Design and architect end-to-end automation solutions across Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems (SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Apps, Dataverse, Power BI) with focus on integration, scalability, and security. Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and provide architectural recommendations that deliver business value and cost savings. Establish and maintain RPA governance framework, including best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes. Develop platform sustainment and operational standards, procedures and build out operational practices. Create and maintain architectural documentation, Process Design Documents (PDDs), and Solution Design Documents (SDDs) to ensure compliance with technical and business standards. Lead the development of reusable templates, accelerators, and automation frameworks to support efficient and repeatable delivery. Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including development, UAT testing, production deployment, code management, and hypercare support. Analyze and report on automation performance metrics, FTE savings, ROI, and risk assessments to stakeholders and senior management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with emerging RPA technologies and industry best practices. Coordinate with IT, Application teams, and business units to ensure seamless integration and delivery of automation solutions. Foster a positive work culture that inspires high productivity and supportive, cohesive teamwork, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for team members to do their best work. Build and maintain effective and trusted relationships with customers, peers, and vendors. Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence across the entire portfolio. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization on a regular basis. Demonstrate commitment to team member development with regular performance discussions, supporting training opportunities, and identifying areas for growth.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:



A related technical degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of ten years of experience in RPA development and implementation, with at least five years in a leadership or technical lead role. Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and proven expertise in enterprise-level implementations. Strong experience with additional RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Pega, Blue Prism or similar platforms. Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages including Python, .NET, C#, SQL, PL/SQL, VBScript, and PowerShell scripting. Experience with the Power Platform AI Builder, Automation/Action Center, and custom connector development. Strong knowledge of version control systems (Azure DevOps, Azure Repos, CI/CD pipelines) and project management methodologies. Analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in architectural design and solution planning. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present technical concepts to business stakeholders and executive leadership. Experience with database technologies, data warehousing, and system integration. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, changing environments while managing multiple priorities. Experience in insurance or healthcare industry is preferred. Professional certifications in Microsoft Power Platform (i.e.. PL-200, PL-500, PL-900) or RPA platforms are highly desirable. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Lean practices. Proven track record of delivering cost-effective automation solutions with measurable business impact. Experience with training program development, vendor management, and measuring training effectiveness. Demonstrated strength in planning, organizing, and managing work, including delegation. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to convey pertinent information to both technical and non-technical audiences. A high degree of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and an understanding of what factors can impact both people and business. Excellent leadership and team management skills with proven ability to mentor and develop technical talent.
