Job Requirements

  • University / College Diploma
  • Previous management and industry experience
  • Skill in using software tools, MS Office
  • Deep understanding of the Financial Planning business including sales practices, CEI and the customer experience, is critical to coaching and team success
  • Robust organizational and team management skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple deadlines and priorities

As Team Manager I, Financial Planning, you will be responsible for all Financial Planning Associate (FPA) hiring and training for the entire Financial Planning Delivery Excellence (FPDE) department.

In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with our internal recruiters and contacts of interest to screen both external and internal candidates interested in our FPA role for three locations in Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal.
  • Conduct interviews, perform necessary background checks, and negotiate starting salaries for new FPA candidates.
  • Work closely with our Onboarding team to ensure new FPAs are onboarded smoothly, transferring all necessary information.
  • Monitor departures and report monthly on hiring/attrition numbers to the Senior Group Manager and AVP of FPDE.
  • Manage our monthly three-week training program for new FPAs. Evolve the material, and ensure all sessions have facilitators.
  • Facilitate our FPA training.
  • Proactively look to improve our FPA retention.
  • Acquire and apply expertise, provide mentorship, assistance and direction to others
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by aligned risk appetite
  • Share knowledge, participate in recruitment and selection and promote a fair and equitable workplace
