Guide our Uxwumixw (community) youth through culturally-rooted programming that honors Sk?wx?wu7mesh snew?iyelh (teachings). Your leadership will create safe spaces where children experience wenaxws (respect), cultural connection, and holistic support at our Youth Centre.
What You'll Do
------------------
Oversee daily operations and programming at the Squamish Nation Youth Centre
Develop and implement culturally-grounded child & youth community programs
Supervise Child and Youth Workers (01-03), ensuring policy compliance and performance management
Coordinate with other Squamish Nation departments to deliver integrated services
Create systems to evaluate and improve youth programs through community feedback
Provide temporary outreach services when needed
Maintain safety protocols that align with Sk?wx?wu7mesh values of child wellbeing
Model trauma-informed practices that honor intergenerational healing
What We're Looking For
--------------------------
5+ years experience in child/youth programming with 2+ years in supervisory roles
Degree/diploma in Child & Youth Care or related field (CYCC certification preferred)
Demonstrated ability to develop culturally-responsive youth programs
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and Indigenous healing practices
Experience with performance management and team leadership
Excellent communication skills for multi-stakeholder collaboration
Understanding of Squamish Nation policies and governance structures
Cultural humility and respect for Sk?wx?wu?7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary: $75,000 - $112,500
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
