As part of the Leadership Group, manage Safety and Quality Assurance Programs
Maintain compliance with all health & safety regulations, policies, and procedures
Uphold the achievement of safety targets
Ensure the products delivered meet or exceed established quality requirements
Safeguard food safety, meeting all requirements
Oversee the training and performance of Production Technicians
Drive the achievement of budgeted production volumes
Manage process control for Wet Milling, Co-Product Processing, Enzymatic Glucose Refining andRoyal Production for continuous operations
Implement practical continuous improvement (kaizen) initiatives to improve safety, operatingresults, and sustainability
Ensure department is "audit ready" at all times; inclusive of Housekeeping, Kaizen and FSSC
Communicate effectively within the Glucose Management Team and through interdepartmental collaboration
Other duties as assigned
Your Profile
You must have a Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent)
Post-secondary education in one or more of the following areas: chemical or mechanical engineering technologies, stationary engineering, or formal education in chemistry or related plant operations technology
A minimum of 2-5 years professional experience within a food or chemical manufacturing industry
Leadership abilities in food manufacturing or a related industry
Adept in Microsoft Office and SAP
Experience with DCS or similar process control equipment
Skilful and adaptable decision-maker, using critical analysis techniques on available information
Ability to implement change and motivate continuous improvement
Self-motivated to learn and gain a deeper understanding of plant processes from 1st principles
Your Future
Reporting to the Production Manager the job holder will primarily ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Glucose plant to meet budgeted production targets. He/she is a member of the Leadership Team, leading a Team of Process Technicians and working closely with all members the Glucose Team. Delivering a quality product on time and contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a safe workplace will contribute to the success of the company.
This position offers a base salary of $85,000 annual. This is a continental shift rotation role and generates 7.5 hours of overtime pay per biweekly pay cycle. A performance bonus may apply.
