Sunday to Thursday; will include weekdays, evenings, and weekends

Salary:

0-500 hours $20.50 per hour

501-1000 hours $21.41 per hour

1001 - 1500 hours $22.42 per hour

1500 + hours $23.63 per hour

Nature & Scope




The Team Leader, Fitness ensures a clean and well maintained facility while supporting and delivering safe, fun, and educational programs and services to members and participants in a fitness environment. This candidate works closely with our volunteer's and is responsible for group fitness schedules including MindBody.

Major Responsibilities

Assists individual members with their fitness programs, in a positive and professional manner Provides support and leadership to staff and volunteers to ensure safe and quality programs, including training and delivering performance evaluations Assists with the planning and implementation of safe and fun YMCA Health and Fitness programs in accordance with YMCA standards. Assist members and guests with fitness floor related questions including machine use, equipment locations and basic movement and exercise inquiries Builds meaningful relationships through positive daily interaction with YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues Promotes philanthropy through the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign Assists with operation of the facility, including opening and closing the building Provides direct leadership to program delivery and ensures program content meets the appropriate criteria and outline Ensures program design and layout meets the needs of all participants Performs member orientations to the fitness facility Performs all mandatory administration duties and records Maintains an atmosphere of achievement that inspires self and others to succeed at the highest levels Ensures the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all members and staff - this includes the free weight, stretching, circuit and cardio areas Maintains a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all program areas, common spaces, and washrooms Assists with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices Attends staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required Assists with running events.

Qualifications

3 successful character references Completion of Grade 12 Minimum one year supervisory experience Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate YMCA Fitness - Individual Conditioning Level 2 or equivalent YMCA Group Fitness Instructor or equivalent Previous experience with group fitness classes an asset Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
