Team Leader
who is ready to guide a team, coordinate residential operations, and ensure a high quality of life for individuals in our care.
The Team Leader acts as the on-site facility manager and mentor, combining administrative oversight with hands-on support. If you're a responsible, compassionate individual looking to grow within a progressive, person-centered organization, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Development and Management
Orient and mentor staff on legislation, policy, and procedures (e.g., VPA, Residential Licensing).
Supervise and support staff in day-to-day care and goal implementation.
Identify and address staff performance issues and provide constructive feedback.
Promote a positive team environment and support staff well-being.
Conduct annual staff performance reviews and participate in team meetings.
Financial and Record Management
Monitor and reconcile individual and household funds.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of medical, financial, and behavioral data.
Maintain records in compliance with Agency policy, licensing, and family services.
Safety
Ensure a safe living and working environment, including food safety, medication storage, and fire drill protocols.
Respond to and document safety concerns or incidents.
Promote risk assessments and appropriate supervision strategies.
Health
Coordinate medical, dental, and optical appointments.
Administer or supervise medication administration as per standards.
Promote healthy meal planning in accordance with Canada's Food Guide.
Individual Support
Encourage community inclusion and daily living skills.
Support the creation and implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
Facilitate informed decision-making and respectful support for individual goals.
Other
Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the Program Manager or designate.
Qualifications and Skills
Certifications (Required):
Valid First Aid Certificate
Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screen) within the last 6 months
Adult & Child Abuse Registry Checks within the last 6 months
Valid Manitoba Driver's License 5F and Vehicle Registration with 2,000,000 cad for third party liability.
Education and Experience:
Grade 12 education minimum; post-secondary education preferred
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities required
Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
