Job Description


Purpose of the position Reporting to the CMO, the Team Lead, Web Experience will provide leadership for the front-end development, web content management and execution of SMART’s web properties. As the web strategy leader, you will work closely with the broader marketing team and organization to develop digital experiences that help drive business growth and create opportunities for our customers to have quality engagements with SMART. This role has high exposure cross-functionally and with executive leadership. To be successful in this role, you will bring proven website expertise along with skills in strategy, analytics, design, project management and digital marketing. You will lead a team of web professionals to manage incoming requests from the business, deliver outstanding digital experiences and ensure the optimal function of SMART’s website. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team to execute strategic priorities and digital content enhancements while driving continuous improvement for SMART’s web properties
  • Manage the strategic prioritization and execution of web requests based on criticality and business impact; create project estimates, define scope requirements, structure projects and schedule work to meet project completion dates with both internal and external partners
  • Partner with various internal teams (marketing, support, product development, etc.) to define and implement operational enhancements, improve processes, identify opportunities, and scale best practices to continual assess and improve on the site's strategic direction and execution
  • Work with developer team, to ensure CMS templates are appropriate, flexible and efficient; developing content models & structure for new section or templates within the CMS
  • Utilize the CMS (Sitecore) and search engine (Coveo) to their full potential to build innovative digital experiences
  • Complete development and implementation of scalable website configuration to support localized customer experiences
  • Develop content governance model and facilitate training for cross-functional content publishers
  • Work closely with business to track performance of current web properties and content, translate into meaningful insights and recommended improvements
  • Guide the troubleshooting, testing and resolving of website issues
  • Establish governance, quality assurance, and a consistent user experience.
  • Serve as a consultant to determine the best use case deployment of existing and future web and digital platforms – including providing direct support and guidance to business-driven activities that are performed on smarttech.com
  • Present and champion web work and digital strategies to stakeholders
  • Stay current in the field of digital marketing and web experience
  • Supervise, motivate and develop a high performing team
Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years progressive experience and responsibility in website management with a proven track record.
  • Experience using Sitecore or similar CMS platforms for managing web content
  • Extensive knowledge of Google analytics, analytics best practices and Google tag manager implementation
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Working knowledge of web development process, roadmap development, and system management of enterprise level website
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Adaptable and able to work within tight deadlines, showing flexibility.
  • Superior needs assessment skills; the ability to assess business needs for how they tie into strategic plans
  • Customer-oriented with strong ability to develop and maintain successful relationships
  • A thorough understanding of best practices in online experience standards, and recognition of opportunities for improvement for digital properties and tactics
  • Knowledge of current and emerging digital technologies to ensure that SMART maximizes its reach, conversions and maximizes business opportunities
  • Experience managing a team
