Overview:

Baycrest Hospital in North York is a leading healthcare facility committed to patient care and community safety. As a Team Lead Security (SOC), you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring the security and safety of the hospital's patients, visitors, and staff. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, strong leadership ability, and a passion for coaching and development within a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training to security staff. Maintain professional deportment and customer service excellence as this is a front-facing role. Liaise with visitors, clients, and staff to resolve concerns and maintain a safe environment. Communicate issues or incidents promptly to the Site Coordinator. Document and investigate incidents and complaints in line with established procedures. Ensure completion of standing orders and daily operational tasks for each shift. Enforce Paladin Security and Baycrest Hospital policies and procedures. Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems. Make emergency overhead announcements when required. Answer phones and dispatch calls efficiently while managing incident coordination. Track deployment of security personnel and ensure site coverage. Manage Lost & Found, key issuance, and ID/access card distribution. Plan and implement shift schedules to ensure optimal coverage. Maintain training compliance and documentation for all officers. Conduct security audits and identify areas for improvement. Perform proactive and reactive patrols as needed to maintain safety.

Requirements:

Excellent deportment, customer service, and communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to coaching and training Working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, and other security equipment Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Valid Ontario Security Guard License Valid CPR and First Aid Certification - Level C (WSIB-approved provider) Available for continental night shifts Immunization Record (TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella) Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (two doses minimum) Vulnerable Sector Check (to be completed upon hire) Proficient in English (oral and written) Minimum 1-2 years of experience in security

Nice to Have:
