Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, of Provincial Programs, the Team Lead of Special Authorization and Claims will have responsibilities for providing guidance and direction in the day-to-day operations of the Provincial Programs Special Authorization and Claims Units ensuring corporate and departmental objectives are met and relationships with key contacts for various government contracts are maintained.

The Team Leader will work closely with the provincial programs leadership team to contribute to the development and implementation of business solutions for our client(s)and to the pursuit of new business opportunities.

Reporting to the Team Leader for Special Authorization and Claims will be the SA Analysts, Business Support Analysts, and Claims Analysts.

The role can be based out of the Moncton, Main Street office location, as well as remotely within the Atlantic Provinces.

Key Responsiblities

  • Provide leadership to the Special Authorization and Claims team, focusing on the growth and development of staff; provide direction to the team, and establish best practices for job tasks
  • Foster and build strong employee engagement through motivation, developing the team, and building relationships
  • Communicate corporate and team vision and policies to employees
  • Demonstrate mature and professional judgment and decision-making ability
  • Provide feedback and coaching to individuals on day-to-day tasks and key responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship, stretch goals, and assist with career development
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and action planning
  • Support the recruitment process as required
  • Build and maintain relationships with the key contacts for various government contracts on day-to-day operations and administrative issues
  • Ensure compliance with the Government policies and procedures, including all relevant Legislation and Regulations
  • Liaise with internal and external partners to support the resolution of issues and concerns
  • Collaborate with our other Provincial Program teams, other Government Programs, and Private Business areas to find efficiencies in delivering services
  • Monitor and manage service delivery targets
  • Analyze trends and statistics and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Compile data and produce various management reports as needed
  • Participate in project and development initiatives by providing insight and guidance
Required Qualifications:
Education: University degree with a focus in Business Administration or related field
Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience including leadership experience
Other Qualifications: Excellent management, planning and decision-making skills; the ability to plan and organize work efficiently; strong communication and negotiation skills
Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; basic knowledge of claims and eligibility systems would be an asset; knowledge of Medavie Blue Cross systems (POSv, PRN, CICS, ES) would be an asset.
Language Skills: Fluently bilingual in both official languages is an asset
