We are seeking a talented and creative Team Lead, Design and UX to join our team. In this role, you will focus on developing and supporting designers through mentoring, reviews, and career conversations while fostering an inclusive team culture. You will guide design rituals, oversee project staffing, and help drive improvements to our design practice. Beyond the design team, you will contribute to company?wide initiatives such as professional development frameworks, operational projects, and support our external presence by managing marketing efforts, including brand visuals, social media content, and client?facing collateral.



What we need you to do:



People Leadership & Coaching

Manage and mentor designers through regular one-on-ones, check ins, and performance reviews. Facilitate 360 feedback, development conversations, and follow ups that drive growth. Oversee the hiring and on-boarding process as it relates to UX/UI, from recruiting and selecting candidates to ensuring smooth integration into the team. Provide ongoing mentoring and actionable feedback to designers and cross functional teammates. Foster a collaborative team culture that emphasizes inclusion, craft quality, and growth.

Design & Delivery Operations

Staff designers across projects, balancing capacity, priorities, and growth opportunities. Refine delivery processes, methods, and toolkits to improve consistency and efficiency. Facilitate and improve design team rituals including critiques, project stand ups, and discipline wide meetings.

Organizational Operations

Own and improve company-wide initiatives such as career frameworks, onboarding programs, company swag, and strategic priorities. Manage operational logistics for the design team such as UX/UI tool licenses and other team resources.

External Brand & Marketing Support

Manage and evolve the design team's external brand through marketing visuals, social media presence, and external collateral. Produce and support the creation of external facing design collateral including case studies, slide decks, and proposal templates.

Growth & Business Development

Join client conversations as a design discipline representative as needed. Translate design team capabilities and resourcing into client ready proposals. Support new business pitches with design expertise, visuals, and process insights.

Skills we expect you to bring:



5+ years in UX/UI design, with at least 3+ years managing designers in a studio/agency, in-house product team, or consultancy. Portfolio that demonstrates strong work leading UX/UI for mobile and web projects, with evidence of facilitating/coaching peers. Formal training in design, business, communication, technology, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience. Expert in UX/UI design, accessibility, and design systems, with the ability to guide designers and teams to elevate design quality and inclusive outcomes. Experience handling team operations, including running structured design rituals (design critiques, retros, reviews), resourcing across projects, and balancing team- and organization-wide priorities. Ability to design and implement career development frameworks. Track record of recruiting, assessing, and on-boarding designers in a growing organization. Strong capability to provide actionable feedback, coaching, and support for cross-functional teammates (PMs, engineers, growth). Comfort managing lightweight marketing/collateral responsibilities (supporting pitch decks, external visuals, or thought leadership showcases). Demonstrated ability to contribute to both culture building and client growth. Knowledge and utilization of AI to supplement processes while maintaining a critical eye on the outputs. Proven ability to build high-trust relationships with cross-functional partners at all levels (growth, strategy, product, tech). Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills suited to audiences from peers to executives to clients. Skilled in conflict resolution and feedback delivery that maintains team health and client confidence.
