Position Summary


As

Team Lead, Case Audit & Quality

, you will oversee the quality assurance, audit, coaching, and performance oversight of a team of disability/absence case managers. You will act as a subject-matter expert, reviewing complex files, providing guidance on challenging cases, and ensuring consistency of high-quality service delivery. You will be a key link between frontline case management and senior leadership, driving continuous improvement in client outcomes and operational metrics.

Key Responsibilities


(These may be adjusted depending on how many direct reports, span of control, etc.)

Lead, mentor, and coach a team of case managers, including giving feedback, handling performance issues, developing training plans, and supporting their professional growth Conduct regular

file audits / reviews

of case manager work to assess compliance with policy, consistency of decisions, appropriateness of recommendations, and quality of documentation Identify recurring trends, gaps or risk areas in audited files and develop action plans (e.g. training, process changes) Serve as escalation point for complex or high-risk cases, providing consultation and recommendations Participate in case reviews, peer reviews, or "second look" assessments for challenging decisions (e.g. accommodation requests, difficult return-to-work plans) Ensure adherence to service-level agreements, contractual obligations, key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality metrics Track audit / quality metrics, prepare regular reports and dashboards for leadership and clients Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. medical practitioners, Employers, rehabilitation providers, client stakeholders) to ensure alignment, clarity and escalation as needed Help refine policies, guidelines, and best practices based on audit findings and evolving industry standards Support onboarding and training of new case management hires, especially in audit expectations and documentation standards Leadership over people, accountability for quality metrics In comparable roles, leads are often involved in hiring, performance reviews, training, policy updates, and capacity planning Participate in or lead

continuous improvement

and process optimization initiatives

-- e.g. root-cause analysis, process mapping, quality improvement projects, case management strategies, gap analysis, etc.

Required Experience & Competencies



Bachelor's degree (CVRP, RRP, CIP, Health Studies, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Sciences, Social Work or similar).

5+ years

of progressive experience in disability / absence management, case management, or benefits adjudication Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, audit, peer review or oversight roles in case management or health/insurance environment Strong technical expertise in medical, functional, rehabilitation, accommodation, return-to-work principles and disability claim adjudication Highly capable in decision-making on complex or ambiguous cases Excellent coaching, mentoring, feedback and supervisory skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (bilingual preferred, if relevant) Comfort working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other case management / audit software tools Preference given to audit and peer review experience or quality assurance in case management Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed / hybrid team
