Team Lead, Cad

Job Description

The CAD Team Lead will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the project as it relates to CAD. This role will serve as the interface with all project related issues and manages internal activities with cross functional groups to ensure that the project is completed on time.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Project Manager and facilitators to provide quality drawings
  • Abilities in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Coordinates all aspects of CAD projects (schedule, financial, technical)
  • Apprise the PM of all related issues on projects
  • Directs and supports CAD staff for optimum productivity
  • Follows support documents, schematics and procedural manuals to ensure adherence to company standards
  • Reviews and evaluates current processes and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure Quality control on all CAD projects
  • Supports joint venture activities where required as part of the civil design needs
  • Complete drawings within prescribed time limit
  • Develop, create, recommend, design new aerial pole line drawings and standardize it for multi-site application. Include fix/edit in existing drawing to conform to the company's current acceptable design standards
  • Create CAD drawings from concept to final design, drawn to scale, suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required for approval
  • Check and correct any mistakes within the drawings
  • Create new and innovative methods to improve the quality of company's drawings and the drawing process.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education with a preference given to those with a university degree in engineering or a college diploma in Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a related field of Telecommunications
  • Telecommunications industry is an asset
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD 2015 and up
  • Able to read site drawings
  • Have experience digitizing plans.
  • Familiar with CSA standards, specifically CSA 22.3 an asset
  • Familiar with construction methodologies an asset
  • Computer literacy in Windows, Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of engineering design and survey methods.
  • Ability to work and focus on a project in a fast-paced environment with an upbeat attitude
  • Dynamic and able to maintain excellent relations clients

  • Proven organizational and interpersonal abilities
  • Resourceful, adaptable, high integrity, self-starter
  • Organized, self-disciplined, reliable and capable of evaluating workload and obtaining cooperation of other departments
  • Good communication skills, self-assurance
  • Capable of working under pressure, sense of urgency
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle to attend project meetings, site visits, tender meetings as needed
