The Marking/Teaching Assistant will support faculty and students by assisting with course delivery, student evaluations, and learning activities in both classroom and lab settings.
Responsibilities
--------------------
Meet regularly with faculty and students regarding grades, course content, and other matters as needed
Assist in evaluating student work using criteria established by supervising faculty
Collaborate with faculty and academic staff to support the University's educational goals and objectives
Contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all members of the University community and its facilities
Support teaching by demonstrating nursing knowledge and skills in classroom or lab settings
Provide tutoring to students
Mark course evaluation activities (e.g., quizzes, tests, assignments, exams, etc.)
Support course activities on D2L as required
Qualifications
------------------
Nursing knowledge and an undergraduate degree
Demonstrated understanding of pedagogy (course preparation, teaching methods, evaluation standards, etc.)ESL training considered an asset
Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Knowledge of and commitment to healthy and safe work practices
Previous teaching assistance experience at the post-secondary level
