Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Undergraduate Academic Services, this position oversees day to day operational needs associated with lab coursework in one or more computer science courses , including, but are not limited to, overseeing lab materials, making improvement/extensions to coding problems and test suites, identifying issues on auto testing, managing student inquires andremark requests and support version control software.

Note: this is an 8-month term opportunity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting issues uncovered by testing or user feedback
  • Configuring system applications according to needs
  • Overseeing day-to-day operational needs for one or more labs/workshops
  • Coordinating student grades/marks amendment and change processes
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Providing technical support for unexpected problems in locally maintained applications
  • Researching, analyzing and recommending potential changes to system features
  • Providing orientation toothers on work procedures and practices
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in supporting computer science labs, courses and/or research
  • Experience working as a TA for at least 3 terms in computer science or related field
  • Experience managing lab grades including remark requests, rerun code and resolve disputes
  • Experience responding to student inquiries
  • Experience designing and implementing test suites
  • Experience updating lab/course materials, making improvement/extensions to coding problems and test suites, identifying issues on auto testing and supporting version control software
  • Strong skills in MarkUs, PCRS, Quercus, or similar software
  • Strong team working skills
  • Strong skills in version control software such as git
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience as a course instructor in computer science or related filed is an asset
  • Experience developing educational materials at the post-secondary level is an asset
