The UNB Early Childhood Centre has a long history of extensive research and curriculum development in early education including early literacies, family literacies, early learning and childcare, and kindergarten curricula. Research projects undertaken by the Centre are typically community-based and participatory. The centre partners with EECD, NBCC, NB Literacy Coalition, Born to Read, Talk with Me, and early learning and childcare sites provincially, nationally, and internationally. This centre serves as a demonstration site for the UNB/STU /NBCC education program and UNB Nursing Program.

YOUR FOCUS
As the Teaching Director of tire UNB Children's Centre, this person will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a program for three and four-year old children implementing the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Child Care - English. This person will mentor three early educators and support staff teaching and learning with children, families, and colleagues.
Prepare learning and caring environments indoors and out, using the provisions and practices of the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Otild Care - English.
Collaborate with early childhood educators, families, university /NBCC students, university/ college professors, and community members to facilitate meaningful curriculum with/ for three and four-year-old children.
Engage in reflective practice through planning and delivering professional learning and co-authoring narrative documentations, with children and educators' learning.
Plan and facilitate staff meetings, problem solving meetings, and professional learning opportunities.
Ongoing assessment and evaluation processes for children's learning, educators, and NBCC practica students.
Keep accurate and consistent daily records for children's learning and Early Leaming and Childcare Regulations.
Coordinate practicum placements, site visits, and family participation.
Maintain bi-weekly reporting on the operator portal for both the parent subsidy and WSP hours for educators.
Work with the ISP program to recruit and hire ISP workers and book site visits for evaluations and inspections.
Record and report the ISP hours and sending to GNB monthly for reimbursement.
Communicate with VN A services weekly and sometimes daily.
Create and maintain PL files for all educators. Following up on PL hours. Print and file certificates and required documentation.
Contact, interview and hiring of new staff in coordination with early children faculty members.
WHAT YOU BRING
A Bachelor of Education degree with a concentration in Early Childhood.
5 years' experience teaching in Early Childhood classrooms.
Experience implementing in the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework for Early Learning and Childcare - English
Additional Strengths:
Prior experience in planning and delivering professional learning events.
Ability to lead and initiate problem solving.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of the Early Learning Act and Regulations
Current First Aid Certificate, Food Services Certificate, Vulnerable Sector plus Criminal Record Check
