Responsibilities


As a Graduate Teaching Assistant/Teaching Assistant, your duties may include, but are not limited to:

Grading Assignments and Exams:

Provide fair and constructive feedback to help students improve.

Facilitating Discussions:

Lead study groups or discussion sessions to deepen understanding of course material.

Assisting Instructors:

Help prepare teaching materials, organize class activities, and manage online learning platforms.

Holding Office Hours:

Offer additional support to students needing extra help or clarification.

Compiling Grades:

Accurately record and maintain student grades as requested by instructors.

Proctoring Exams:

Ensure academic integrity during examinations.

Providing Administrative Support:

Assist with various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of courses.
Official GTA/TA duties are set by each instructor, and could vary from course-to-course, instructor-to-instructor, and semester-to-semester. Duties are assigned by the instructor of each course requiring a GTA/TA and could vary from course to course. The GTA will be responsible for assisting instructor(s) to a combined maximum of 120 assigned by the Business Faculty. Duties will normally consist of assisting with the instructional program of undergraduate courses, and/or marking assignments or tests; invigilation of tests and exams; and/or leading lab sections with associated marking, preparation and assignments; and/or marking assignments or tests. Teaching Assistant hours maximum hours can vary.

Students must have completed the class requiring a Teaching Assistant, prior to being selected for a position. Preference will be given to those students who have achieved a final 75% or higher in the course(s) you wish to assist with.

What You'll Bring to the Position

Academic Excellence:

For

Graduate Teaching Assistants

, hold an undergrad degree in relevant subject area or concrete relevant experience to the course demonstrating a strong understanding of the subject matter. For

Teaching Assistants

, you have achieved a final grade of 75% or higher in the course(s) you wish to assist with (or a strong pass for courses that are pass/fail), demonstrating a strong understanding of the subject matter.

Current Enrollment:

For TA, you are actively enrolled in courses during the Fall 2026 semester, ensuring you're connected with the student community and up-to-date with academic expectations.

A genuine enthusiasm for business education and a desire to help others succeed academically.

Strong Communication Skills:

Ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively to students with diverse learning styles.
