Teaching Assistant - College of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Your general location of work will be the College of Engineering and you will report to the instructor(s) responsible for the course.

In the appointment of Teaching Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the Instructor(s) and may include one or more of the following:

  • Marking assignments
  • Marking laboratory logbooks and/or reports
  • Marking quizzes and/or exams
  • Holding tutorials and/or staffing a Help Desk for students
  • Assisting with general administration of the course such as email communications with students regarding assignments, and recording grades
  • Demonstrating and/or assisting with the demonstration of laboratories
  • Monitoring safety in the laboratory in cooperation with the instructor(s)
  • Invigilating examinations
  • Collecting information for continuous program improvement
  • Other duties related to the course deemed appropriate by the Instructor(s)

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
Graduate student in good standing enrolled in the College of Engineering. English language proficiency, both written and oral is required. Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or instructor. PSAC hiring guidelines will be adhered to.
