Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA) is a private boarding school located in Fort Erie, Ontario. Our diverse and vibrant student body includes learners from around the globe. We are seeking an enthusiastic and culturally responsive Middle School Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering core academic instruction to a small, multi-grade classroom with students in Grades 5 through 8 (1 student in Grade 5, 1 student in Grade 6, and the remaining students in Grades 7-8). This unique teaching environment offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive, internationally-minded community.

As a Middle School Teacher your primary responsibilities would be to:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning. Create a positive classroom environment that promotes student participation and collaboration. Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and needs. Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching strategies accordingly. Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of multi-grade learners Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment Support English Language Learners (ELL) with varying levels of proficiency Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor of Education Experience teaching middle school grades, preferably in a multi-grade or international setting

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of the Ontario Curriculum and ELL strategies Culturally responsive and adaptable to a global student population Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills A passion for education and student development

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Valid Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT)

The Following Would Be an Asset:

Experience in private or boarding school environments Training or experience in ESL/ELL instruction Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
