The Learning Buddies Network (LBN) is a local charity that provides free mentoring for elementary students in need of support in reading or math. We do this in partnership with thirteen schools and organizations throughout British Columbia. Recipients are teacher-identified elementary school children who struggle with basic academics (the buddies). Our goal is to empower kids through mentoring to improve their self-esteem and view themselves as capable learners. We recruit and train high school and university students to act as Mentors/Tutors.
