Position Overview:



We are looking for a full-time teacher to fill a maternity leave position in our dynamic early childhood services team, leading a preschool classroom in our ECS Program for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year (January 5, 2026 to June 26, 2026)

This role is perfect for someone passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming programming with the support of a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and a team or Education Assistants. This role will report to the Provincial Manager ECS.

Morning and afternoon classes run Monday to Thursday 8:45am to 11:45am and 12:45-3:45. School contact hours are from 8:15am to 4:15pm. Fridays are scheduled for preparation, team collaboration, staff meetings and IPP prep/meetings.

Summary



We are seeking a passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our team in Alberta. This vital role involves fostering a nurturing learning environment for children with autism and supporting their developmental needs. Responsibilities:



Promote an inclusive, strengths based education environment, embracing neurodiversity

In collaboration with the clinical team, plan, Coordinate and oversee all ECS program components for each student

Follow the Kindergarten Program Statement, Kindergarten Curriculum and all other ECS related Alberta Education regulations

Collaborate with the Calgary & Edmonton teachers to ensure consistency across classrooms

Provide direct and individualized instruction in all academic and developmental areas

Focus on preparing students for learning in other school systems

Develop and manage IPPs; oversee and lead IPP meetings for each student

Work collaboratively with parents/guardians on their child's respective goals, plans and challenges

Supervise, train, coach and mentor the Education Assistants.

Prepare Education Assistant professional development when required

Qualifications:



Valid Alberta Education Professional Teaching Certificate Experience and/or desire to work with children in a neuroaffirming practice model. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams Strong communication skills, both written and oral Clean Criminal Record and Child Welfare Checks Valid certification in Child and Infant CPR and First Aid
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From $40.80 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
