Department Overview

As a member of the Reconciliation team, you have a rare opportunity to participate in a vital control function within TD Securities Risk and Control Services.
The objective of this role is to oversee the Month End Attestation process with emphasis on high volume Nostro, Suspense and consolidation accounts. You will partner with process owners to gather requirements, analyze reconciliation performance related issues, investigate, improve, and redesign existing reconciliation. You will make sure that all transactions have been recorded and accurately accounted for on a timely basis. You will help with detection, resolution and implementation of process changes to cover identification of exceptions and develop controls to prevent their creation.

Job Requirements

  • You can demonstrate experience and knowledge through 5+ years of industry experience in capital markets, operations, risk and/or control functions
  • You have a good understanding of accounting principles within capital markets combined with an understanding of reconciliation processes and systems

Job Details

The position reports to Group Manager, Reconciliations and is responsible for:
  • Identification and resolution of process errors and/or unusual activity to confirm that the GL is reliable and accurately represents the underlying business transactions and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Analyze current state reconciliation controls process and perform root cause analysis for any breaks and gaps in process, including but not limited to: Examine trends and recurring patterns that create exceptions and developing solutions both via preventive or detective controls
  • Finding Data integrity or quality issue
  • Mapping current state processes
  • Sourcing/creating metrics to performing meaningful analytics
  • Enhancing Automated reconciliation matching rule efficiency
  • Identifying outdated processes or technology and subsequently strategizing roadmap to remediation
  • Independently drive change and solutions for all identified root causes
  • Take a risk-based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business
  • Liaise and drive change between multiple stakeholders (Technology, Business, Control Services, Front Office etc.)
  • Facilitate successful integration of newly designed solutions/processes into BAU teams
  • Act as both change delivery and management lead for all reconciliation improvements
  • Recommend and summarize improvements to executives and senior leadership
  • Independent governance and follow up with lines of business for investigation status and queries
