Job Description

Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Registered Practical Nurse in OR/Surgical Suite department.


The primary location for this position is:

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital

The duration of this temporary contract would be until approximately April 2026, or sooner, as determined by RRHS

Qualifications:

Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required. Operating Room Nurse Certificate from a recognized program or equivalent is required (Applicants currently enrolled and actively pursuing this certification may be considered*).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support is required. One (1) year operating room experience within the last five (5) years is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative patient care. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development. Basic computer skills (Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook) Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions and changing demands. Excellent attendance record and punctuality. Effective organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships within a team to contribute to a positive work life. Is cognizant of emotions and experience of others while communicating with patient, families and team members. Able to recognize the importance of managing your emotions and the impact that it had on team morale and performance. Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Other pertinent conditions

:

Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($38.35 per hour to $39.08 per hour)

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
