We are seeking a skilled, experienced and dedicated Taxidermist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for wildlife preservation and artistry, demonstrating the ability to create lifelike representations of animals through taxidermy. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a strong understanding of animal anatomy. The Taxidermist will work with various species, ensuring high-quality results that meet client expectations.

Duties

Prepare and preserve animal specimens using taxidermy techniques, including skinning, mounting, and finishing. Conduct thorough research on species characteristics to ensure accurate representation in the final product. Utilize various tools and materials for taxidermy processes, including knives, needles, adhesives, and paints. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and requirements for each project. Provide guidance on care and display options for completed taxidermy pieces. Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills and craftsmanship.

Requirements

Proven experience in taxidermy or a related field is preferred; formal training is a plus. 5+ years experience is required. Strong understanding of animal anatomy and physiology. Creating molds and forms requreid. Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment related to taxidermy. Good communication skills for client interactions. A commitment to ethical practices in wildlife preservation.
