The Manager, Tax is responsible for assisting with tax compliance, tax planning and providing support for the accounting for income taxes for a wide variety of entities, including investment funds, limited companies, partnerships and joint ventures in Canada and the US. Reporting to the Vice President, Tax, the Manager works closely with Fund Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Investor Services and the Management Committee, to provide tax expertise for the development of new funds and initiatives and to oversee tax compliance for the various entities.



The successful candidate:



Assists with all tax compliance requirements, including preparing and filing federal, international, state and provincial income tax and other returns, including all related analysis and support and coordinating with external tax advisors. Supports Trez in its compliance with all tax related requirements, including instructing staff on unusual tax responsibilities such as commodity tax self-assessments, tax restructurings and rebate filings. Assists in ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place over tax compliance and accounting for income taxes. Facilitates all interactions with the CRA and other tax authorities for tax audits and filings. Works with the CFO team and external tax advisors to establish tax planning structures for new and existing funds and investments and various JV deals in Canada and the US. Collaborates and provides tax expertise on new product development and analyses ad-hoc strategic opportunities from the tax perspective. Supports Investor Services with tax planning and investor tax compliance. Supports the Treasurer with tax planning issues and considerations.

Qualifications and Experience:



Bachelor of Commerce, with a specialization in Finance or equivalent qualifications. CPA 5 - 7 years of related work experience.

A competitive total rewards package will be on offer for the successful candidate including a base salary range between $118,320-$177,480 plus benefits. This is a 12 month contract position.
