Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements and reports to support tax planning strategies.
Assist with estate planning initiatives, including wills, trusts, and estate law considerations.
Support audits by providing documentation and explanations related to tax positions and financial data.
Reconcile accounts such as general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy.
Collaborate on mergers & acquisitions by analyzing financial data and supporting due diligence processes.
Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools for bookkeeping and reporting.
Interpret securities law and regulatory requirements affecting tax filings and compliance.
Contribute to the development of financial reports by writing clear summaries and analysis of financial concepts.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Proven tax experience with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
Familiarity with estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law is highly desirable.
Experience with auditing procedures, regulatory reporting, and public accounting environments.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, GAAP standards, and financial statement preparation.
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Excellent attention to detail combined with effective account reconciliation and financial analysis capabilities.
Experience with TaxCycle is preferred.
