Reports to: Dispatcher/ Operations Manager/Superintendent/Foreman
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive trucks to transport materials to and from job sites.
-Manual Labour
- Haul and drive materials to dump sites.
- Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo.
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Record information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in logbook or on on-board computer.
- Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using cellular phone.

Long Hours (8-14 hour days)
Days, evenings, and weekends
Dusty
Weather Conditions vary: Hot, Cold, Windy, Rain.
Sit for long periods.

- Review, understand and follow all Safety Policies and Procedures

- Participate in Hazard Assessments, Job site inspections, and Equipment Maintenance
- Inspection, near-miss or Accident-Incident forms.
- Inform the Safety Manager of all Incidents, Accidents, Near-misses, and Safety Infractions.
- Participate in Safety Toolbox Talks
- Implement Safety into all tasks related to your scope of work
- Ensure proper use of PPE
Documentation:
It is the goal of North West Paving to retain employees and follow Labor relation standards. Proper documentation is required to protect the company as well as the employees from possible issues that could arise. The following documentation will be implemented and must be completed for proper investigation, and to improve productivity and performance. You will be responsible to review, incorporate and sign the following when provided to you by your supervisor:
- Employee Reprimand Documentation
- Employee performance evaluation
- Employee Termination Form - Each Section must be completed. In the case of a Termination, a reason must be provided, and all supporting documentation must be attached. (Previous Infraction/Reprimand documentation).
