The opportunity:





Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Innovation Intern will play a key role in supporting and advancing the company's recruitment and talent strategy. This role contributes to innovative, AI-driven initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and elevate the Wellington-Altus recruitment experience, while also serving as a brand ambassador for the organization.



Working closely with Talent Acquisition Specialists, HR Business Partners, and the Vice-President, Strategy Execution & Performance, the Talent Innovation Intern will assist with day-to-day hiring operations and help explore and implement smart technologies that streamline and optimize recruitment processes.



This internship offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of talent acquisition and HR operations through AI-powered insights and data analytics. Interns will gain hands-on experience with real-world projects that influence executive decision-making and drive organizational strategy.


Key responsibilities include:




Leverage Microsoft Copilot and Power BI to review HR Talent Acquisition and HR Operations processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. Develop and optimize AI prompts in Microsoft Copilot to automate HR processes, generate insights, and improve reporting efficiency. Experiment with generative AI capabilities to create templates, summaries, and dashboards that enhance HR decision-making. Document best practices for prompt engineering to enable HR teams to maximize Copilot's potential within the department. Design and build Power BI data models to enhance executive dashboards and operational reporting for HR Talent Acquisition and HR Operations. Support strategic HR initiatives by analyzing and presenting Balanced Scorecard KPIs for over 300 corporate staff, working closely with HR Business Partners and the Strategy & Planning team. Performing other Talent Acquisition support duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:




Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, HR, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. 1-2+ years' experience in a customer/client-service facing role. Previous experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset, but not required. Previous internship or co-op experience in HR or related field is an asset. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset. Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, or VBA) is an asset. Strong interest in AI tools and prompt engineering. An ability to craft effective prompts for Microsoft Copilot to deliver accurate and actionable outputs. Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments. Proactive and eager to learn, with a drive to improve systems. Committed to delivering exceptional service with a positive attitude. Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Effective problem-solver with strong organizational skills. Adaptable and resilient in ambiguous, high-pressure situations. Excellent critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills. Up-to-date knowledge of HR standards and legislation. An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality. Bilingual in French and English, both oral and written is considered a strong asset.
