Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School - Grade 6 Teacher

FTE: 1.0 \xe2\x80\x93 Temporary Contract

The expected start date is August 28, 2023, or will be based upon mutual agreement between the Division and the candidate, and will complete on June 10, 2024, or upon the return of the incumbent.

The School

Senator Joyce Fairbairn is a dynamic middle school serving approximately 635 students in grade 6 to 8. Senator Joyce Fairbairn has a literacy/numeracy focus and is engaged in highly inclusive teaching. Additionally, Universal Design for Learning is a major focus so that we can meet the needs of all learners in an engaging way. SJF also hosts the middle school E-learning program within the Lethbridge School Division.

Subjects

Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School is seeking a Grade 6 Generalist teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year The successful candidate will be required to teach Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and an academic support option. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team players who:

• Has the ability to support complex learners and help close learning gaps by working closely with students who require extra support to experience success.

Requirements

• Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School

Division who are offered employment must provide:

• A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
• A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
• Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
• Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee\xe2\x80\x99s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
