Position Summary:
As a senior Systems & Security Specialist you will be responsible for assessing, designing and implementing operationally sustainable, highly available and secure enterprise systems and networks.
You will regularly work with stakeholders to identify and translate requirements into fully delivered technical architecture. You will lead, manage and report on critical infrastructure-related project progress and take part in strategic planning. You will respond to, troubleshoot, determine root cause and resolve system issues. You will be responsible for monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance and capacity of enterprise systems.
Position Responsibility:Design, deploy, configure and maintain Networking Infrastructure - Arista, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, Open Gear.
Azure Infrastructure.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex system issues, including performance tuning, system optimization, and debugging of critical issues
Manage and lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations and new implementations
Develop project plans, timelines and budgets while ensuring successful project delivery
Implement, integrate and manage SaaS, AWS and Azure-based applications and services
Perform capacity and resource planning to ensure systems can meet future demands
Conduct security, performance and risk analysis for network and information systems
Assist in designing, planning, documenting, implementing and performance of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies and activities
Ensure operational, performance and security monitoring of all designated enterprise
Ensure existing system documentation and inventories are maintained
Assist in the maintenance of relevant technical policies and procedures
Act as an escalation point for system related incidents, including security incidents
Ensure all assigned incidents are properly addressed in accordance with predetermined Service Levels and Incident Management processes
Actively participate in the Problem Management process through the identification and correction of recurring issues
Ensure a smooth support transition from the delivery teams to the relevant Support teams
Work with delivery teams, IT, and business customers to support initiatives, provide estimates, assist with implementations and ensure that solutions are highly operational, available and secure
Become intimate with the corporate application, server, network and roadside infrastructure
Communicate changes, fixes and processes to the end-user community
Document implementations to keep team on an even knowledge level
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware & software purchases, maintenance contracts and support agreements.
Ensure management is updated on issues in a timely manner
Provide training and mentorship to other team members
Additional tasks may be assigned as required
Qualifications:Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, implementing and supporting Networking Infrastructure - Arista, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, Open Gear.
Experience with Backup Technologies (Cohesity, VEEAM, NetApp)
Experience in managing large scale IT Project implementations
Experience with NAS storage technologies, including Netapp, Oracle, NFS, SMB
Experience with implementing IT security technologies and best practices
Experience with highly available multi-site system design required
Cloud Experience - AWS, Azure
Experience with VMware and other virtualization technologies, including environment orchestration and self-service provisioning preferred
Experience utilizing SIEMs (e.g. Splunk, Sentinel) is an asset
College or University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferred
System & security technical certifications an asset (CCNP, CCSP, CISSP, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with IT governance frameworks such as COBIT and PCI DSS an asset
Knowledge of Center for Internet Security (CIS) system hardening guidelines
Knowledge of advanced networking concepts (. e.g. VLANs, Firewalls) is an asset
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban preferred
Strong ability to communicate and document clearly and effectively
Ability to track and present project initiatives and deployment progress
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to work with internal and external vendors in a professional manner
