Mission

Reporting to the Director, Systems Integration, the System Security Officer is responsible for the overall security of the project\xe2\x80\x99s infrastructure and be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of security management for the project\xe2\x80\x99s infrastructure, including security risk assessment.




Role and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall security of the works
  • Responsible for the delivery of all aspects of security management for the Works, including Security Risk Assessment, CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design) and other threat and vulnerability assessments.
  • Be the project\xe2\x80\x99s contact for all communications with the Contracting Authority, the Chief Security Officers, other projects\xe2\x80\x99 System Security Officers, law enforcement and emergency response agencies, and others on security matters related to the Works.
  • Support the Chief Security Officer in the overall security certification of the project as agreed in the SSSIC (System Safety and Security Interface Committee).





Qualifications

Education: Bachelor\'s engineering degree or other relevant training Years of experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience in an equivalent position
Technical competencies:
  • Have extensive experience in the field of system security, applied in a metro type rail transit environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of system life cycle, security design principles and risk analysis
  • Knowledge of complex systems of security engineering and in real time, including architecture of systems, hardware and software
  • Be a CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or equivalent applicable alternative acceptable to the Contracting Authority.
  • Be a PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) licensed holder, or eligible to become one, an asset.
  • Excellent command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English (spoken, read and written).
  • Fluency in French (spoken, read and written), an asset.
