Aerospace Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead and coordinate day-to-day execution of tasks in a multi-disciplinary project team. This role supports the Program Manager to meet technical requirements, schedule requirements, and budget adherence, while coordinating intra-project activities with various leads and backend teams.
Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day execution of tasks in a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Support the Program Manager to meet technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Coordinate intra-project activities with Systems Lead, Technical Leads, and backend teams such as buyers, operation coordinators, and shippers.
• Coordinate the generation of test plans, procedures, and the coordination of GSE (design, procurement, assembly) and test facilities.
• Identify and manage customer and program risks and opportunities including prioritization, mitigation, escalation, and resolution.
• Support the Program Manager in negotiating and reaching agreements with customers regarding key requirements and objectives.
• Monitor non-labour management, including Planning Engine generation, and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support program control through regular reviews, design reviews, audits, staff meetings, and other program meetings.
• Prepare detailed schedules to track program progress, assess costs, and develop work-around plans as required.
• Prepare for monthly program reviews and briefings to management.
• Maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
• Liaise with customers to maintain effective relationships and enhance their confidence in our quality systems and products.

• 5+ years of experience working with multidisciplinary teams in fields such as mechatronics, mechanical, software, and electrical/hardware
• Experience in presenting and speaking with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in MS Project

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in Aerospace, space, robotics, train, medical instruments, or automotive industries
• 10+ years of experience within engineering, with at least 5 years as a Project Engineer
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace)
• Experience with Earned Value Methodology
• Experience with development work and complete project life cycle
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal and conflict management skills
• Experience with team leadership and task estimating
• Willingness to work with external stakeholders

Work Environment
The work environment includes regular hours of 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). The dress code is business casual, with the goal of dressing at least as well as our customers during meetings. Our teams are collaborative, and the environment is collegial, fostering a culture where team members are happy to review and assist each other.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $74.00/hr.
