Recruitment range: $72,242- $79,650 starting salar

Performance range: $93,951

salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases. Job Summary

Mandate:



Reporting to Senior Cloud Systems Architect and working as part of the Production and Technical Support Team within University Systems, the Systems Analyst will contribute as part of a team to the Tier 2 technical support of the University of Victoria's central administrative database environments, enterprise, and cloud software systems, focusing on the Microsoft 365 platform, which must be available on essentially a 7x24 basis. Duties include liaison with customers, software developers, system administrators, operations staff, vendor partners and management to facilitate the information gathering, analysis, diagnosis, solution design, and remediation of information system issues. Systems may include business and collaboration applications, identity management, security and compliance solutions, interfaces, reports, tools, customizations and workflows.


Objectives:




Provide tier 2/3 operational support and problem solving for UVic's Microsoft 365 environment supporting faculty, staff, and students Develop infrastructure components, enhancements, customizations, or configurations for enterprise information systems balancing end user, privacy, and security requirements Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft 365 service offerings to respond to vendor-driven changes Collaborate with other members of the Production and Technical Support team and University Systems in support of enterprise and cloud systems

Normal business hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, system maintenance may be performed off-hours and major issues are responded to on a 24/7 basis. This position may be required to work outside of regular business hours on an emergency or prescheduled basis.


Job Requirements
This position requires an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience with modern scripting and system automation, broad exposure to systems analysis, Microsoft enterprise & cloud infrastructure management, and web technologies. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:




Administration of and end-user support for Microsoft 365 services including: Entra ID (Azure AD), SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Purview, Power BI, Microsoft 365 apps for Enterprise (Office 365), OneDrive, and Power Platform services Microsoft PowerShell and automation scripting in a Windows server environment Navigating administrative business processes and procedures Identity and Access management systems and processes Enterprise and Cloud software support and application administration
