The incumbent maintains an in-depth knowledge of Hospital systems, providing technical expertise, leadership, and support to users. This role includes ownership and lifecycle management of assigned applications, ensuring their stability, security, and alignment with operational needs and Most Responsible Person responsibilities.
The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, and functionality of custom reports, and applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts detailed analysis of client and departmental requirements across a multi-site hospital environment, providing recommendations for process optimization, system enhancements, and resource allocation in alignment with hospital standards and best practices
Design, develop, configure, test, and implement custom software and integration solutions to support Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with established procedures, technical standards, and data integrity protocols.
Support initiatives related to system design, build, and deployment, coordinating activities with internal stakeholders, regional partners, and external vendors to achieve successful system integration and implementation outcomes.
Maintain and enhance database architectures, interfaces, and integration tools for both legacy and new systems; investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to configuration, performance, and interoperability.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system specifications, and project reports; provide status updates and recommendations to management, project teams, and relevant committees.
Act as a liaison to departments and various external contacts.
Attends task team or committee meetings and represent the department regarding process improvement initiatives or special projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
Post-secondary education in computer science, health informatics, or related discipline
Minimum three (3) years' experience in systems support, integration or application analysis. Preference is given to candidates with experience within healthcare environments
Experience supporting or implementing hospital information systems (e.g., MEDITECH, EPIC). Experience supporting third party software (e.g, cardio server, pocket health, ramsoft, cbord, Omnicell, RL solutions).
Understanding of workflow analysis, data integrity, and testing methodologies.
Ability to work on an "On-call" basis including evenings and weekend
PREFERRED:
Post-graduate certificate or degree in health informatics or related field
Five (5) years+ experience in systems support, integration or application analysis within a hospital environment
Certification in HL7 or healthcare integration technologies.
Experience with integration tools (e.g., MD Link, BizTalk, Rhapsody) and development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, PowerApps, or SQL
