We\xe2\x80\x99re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics and toxicology. Our Ottawa office has an opportunity for a Systems Analyst. As the System Analyst, you will define systems scope, objectives and functionality based on user input and an understanding of business processes and industry requirements.What You\xe2\x80\x99ll DoDesign or modify information systems through process of business analysis.Identifying user needs, documenting requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.Considers computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis.Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.Required QualificationsB.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline.Minimum three years of software development experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience in System Lifecycle documentation authoring and execution.Experience working directly with business stakeholders to obtain system requirements and ad hoc data request requirements.Sound software engineering fundamentals.Expertise in building web applications from the ground up.Expertise in maintaining existing web applications.Expertise in .NET development (ASP.NET MVC, C# and/or VB.NET).Expertise in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) configuration and security.Expertise in SQL Server development (data normalization, stored procedures, security, etc.)Expertise with complex query creation in T-SQL to produce data sets for business users.Experience with data interfaces between systems.On a rotational basis you will provide 24X7 support via a cell phone and you might be asked to come into the office.Preferred QualificationsExperience in validation of software systems in a regulated environment.Experience with WinForms applications.Experience with reporting tools (SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, etc.).Experience with SVN source code control.Experience with other system documentation (e.g., Business Impact Assessments, data privacy assessments, disaster recovery plans and test protocols).Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
