Position Scope:




Oxford Food Group has an opportunity for a System Administrator, located in Oxford, NS. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology.


The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health, security, and performance of both Linux and Windows based systems across multiple locations. A key focus of this role will be ensuring all systems are consistently patched and updated, and driving the implementation of automation tools to streamline the update process and minimize downtime.


Responsibilities,

Ensure timely application of security patches and software updates on all Linux and Windows servers, desktops, and devices. Conduct controlled testing of updates in staging environments prior to production rollout to mitigate risks and ensure service continuity. Develop, implement, and manage configuration management and automation solutions to streamline system updates. Monitor system performance and respond proactively to potential issues or vulnerabilities. Collaborate with IT leadership to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to improve infrastructure reliability and update management. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, update procedures, and infrastructure changes. Support backup, disaster recovery, and incident response processes.

Position Requirements:



3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role. Strong working knowledge of Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server environments. Experience with system patching and software lifecycle management in multi-site environments. Hands-on experience with automation/configuration management tools. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python. Strong understanding of security best practices and system hardening. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Experience managing systems in virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Proxmox).
