Job Purpose
Field Tech Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining both on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across all systems. The ideal candidate will be a skilled IT professional with strong hands-on experience in server, network, and cloud environments, as well as a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system optimization.
You will support day-to-day operations while also leading projects that enhance our infrastructure and cloud solutions. This position plays a key role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and scalability of Field Tech Solutions' technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure across multiple locations and cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Administer and support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and server environments.
Manage and monitor network equipment and configurations (Cisco, Meraki, HPE, Aruba) including switches, firewalls, and routing.
Implement and maintain security solutions including firewall rule management, endpoint protection (Defender ATP), and vulnerability scanning.
Oversee Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune environments including user/device management, patching, and automation.
Administer VoIP systems and ensure reliable telephony operations.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam and related systems).
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change management.
Provide third-level technical support for servers, networks, and enterprise applications.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve system issues, implement upgrades, and improve system performance.
Participate in IT governance, ensuring compliance with security and operational best practices.
Provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance for business applications such as Dynamics 365, Qualys, and cybersecurity tools.
Support desktop environments as needed, including imaging, hardware setup, and asset management.
Ensure infrastructure changes are planned, documented, and communicated effectively.

Qualifications and Experience
Education: Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems and network administration.
Technical Expertise:
Virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V).
Cloud services and administration (Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra).
Networking technologies (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls).
VoIP systems and telephony infrastructure.
Storage systems (SAN/NAS/Cloud).
Cybersecurity tools and best practices.
Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of ITIL principles and change management processes.
Knowledge of Canadian privacy and data protection regulations.

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based role with flexibility for remote and onsite support.
Occasional travel within Canada and the U.S. (up to 25%).
May require extended or weekend hours to support critical operations or maintenance windows.
