ABOUT US:

Onion Lake Family Services is an organization that strengthens family units by offering support and resources to parents and caregivers, aiming for healthy homes. Our short-term, strength based services focus on empowering families for long term improvement and skill building.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Under the direction of the Administration Manager the Systems Navigator will be responsible in supporting vulnerable community members in overcoming challenges of navigating and accessing programs that are currently offered in the community. The Systems Navigator will also research in accessing and applying for Government Funding Grants for OLFS Agency.

Assist with data entry/updating of client files on the database and hard files.

Assist and support community members to connect to programs (Jordan's Principle, Social Development, Prevention, Post Majority, CHRT 41)

Develop a comprehensive inventory of support services available in the Nation.

Establish a trusting relationship with community members by initiating and maintaining regular client contact.

Conduct initial and on-going goal setting with community members.

Advocate on behalf of clients as necessary to ensure they are receiving all services and supports from community programs for which they are eligible.

Offer other indicated interventions to promote wellness, and recovery.

Develop effective and collaborative working relationships and partnerships with other community programs.

Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Assist in coordinating and developing a comprehensive community wellness plan in collaboration with OLCN Departments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



Human Services Degree or relevant education. (Child Youth Care, Community Mental Health, Early Childhood)

2 years experience in the Human Services field

Knowledge in using electronic record management systems.

Valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable abstract

Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector.

Ability to construct clear and concise materials.

Knowledge in Proposal writing.

Knowledge in Grant Applications

Ability to communicate in Cree language is an asset.
