Primary Purpose: The Systems Analyst (IT Infrastructure Projects) plays a strategic key role in leading and delivering projects that transform the IT ecosystem at the University of Saskatchewan. Through skillful leadership of initiatives that modernize USask data centers, virtualization infrastructure, and IT research and administration compute and storage, the Systems Analyst prepares the University for the coming decades to fulfill its teaching and research mission. The role includes supporting infrastructure strategy and ensuring alignment with institutional and research priorities.
Nature of Work: In conjunction with IT managers and solutions architects within ICT, the Systems Analyst will lead projects to modernize data centers and infrastructure within USask's enterprise architecture framework. The role involves autonomous planning, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making. The incumbent works closely with research, network, infrastructure, and security teams, as well as multiple units under the Vice-President Administration, including Facilities and Planning, Development, and Construction, and with external vendors and contractors. Day-to-day activities include meeting, planning, budgeting, and coordinating multiple high-value ($M) projects. As part of a continuous improvement program, the Systems Analyst will partner with infrastructure managers to define and implement best practices, enhance operational excellence, and drive efficiency and innovation across IT infrastructure initiatives.
This position is based in-person at the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Hybrid work may be eligible under USask's Alternative Workspace Guidelines.
