Under the direction of the Director, Business Technology and Security Services, the Infrastructure Support Specialist / System Administrator is responsible for the effective operation and support of Enerkem\'s IT infrastructure. The position provides operational management and support for all areas of IT including (but not limited to) applications, servers, storage, desktop, laptops, printers, access credentials, telecom, networking, data and electronic security (and any other IT devices).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain infrastructure availability and performance through regular monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and escalation of problems to vendors when needed
  • Manage and maintain the documentation and procedures for Enerkem\'s infrastructure solutions
  • Provide support for the escalation of IT issues and communication of status to management and internal customers.
  • Assist in the research, design, and implementation of infrastructure solutions to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and end-user productivity
  • Manage and maintain Enerkem\'s infrastructure services on a day-to-day basis
  • Participate in the planning and evolution of Enerkem\'s infrastructure services, making changes to architecture where needed
  • Track and manage IT assets deployed across the organization
  • Document issues and resolutions for future reference and knowledge transfer
  • Liaise between third-party vendors on project work and maintenance
  • Create status reports as required and present findings
  • Act as advocate for IT department and its initiatives
  • Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers
Qualifications

EDUCATION
  • College or diploma in computer science
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years direct work experience in an IT capacity required.
  • Experience in the Engineering sector is considered an asset
  • Track record showing ability of working independently on IT initiatives and projects
  • Advanced experience supporting and configuring:
  • Microsoft infrastructure solutions (Office 365, Azure, Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, SQL, Active Directory, GPO management, Windows Server 2008-2016, etc.).
  • Linux server administration (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Multi-site networks, setting and working with stacked switches, managing wireless networks, VLANs, routers, and firewalls.
  • VMWare virtualization solutions with vShpere 6.0
  • Storage solutions such as Tinrtri, NetApp, QNAP, and EMC.
  • Network services such as DHCP, DNS, VPN, and FTP.
  • Enterprise Anti-virus products.
  • Enterprise Backup Solutions such as Veeam and BackupExec.
  • Administrating CIFS/SMB/File Shares, Network Printers, Antispam, Microsoft Office applications (Customizing), Monitoring solutions and CRM solutions.
  • VOIP solutions (SBC solutions, QoS, SIP trunking)
OTHER SKILLS
  • Able to effectively communicate bilingually (French and English) both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and result-oriented team player
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to show effective problem solving, creativity and innovative thinking skills
