If you are passionate about leveraging technology to empower education, research and to drive institutional excellence, join us and be part of shaping the future of the University of Alberta through innovative IT solutions.PositionReporting to the Team Lead Windows Infrastructure Services, the System Administrator provides system administration for operating systems on servers that run critical and central services used by campus users and campus computers, as well as external clients.The duties and responsibilities include performance and security monitoring of servers to ensure efficient operation and to meet business and service requirements; working with other teams and/or vendors in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues affecting thousands of users or computers; working in projects and provides technical expertise for service deployments. The incumbent will participate in a 24-hour, 7-day on-call support rotation and as well as scheduled off-hour maintenance. The team is responsible for the administration of operating systems on servers that run centrally managed campus-wide services and departmental administrative services, as well as servers and services hosted for external clients.
