McInnes Cooper is seeking a motivated and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Corporate Legal Support Services team in our Sydney office in a full-time permanent position. Our new team member will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support for a group of corporate lawyers within an innovative team support model; working to ensure all clients receive the highest level of service.



As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for:



Ensuring our lawyers' practices are organized efficiently, and that clients' expectations are consistently exceeded.

Drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.

Maintaining and organizing physical and electronic legal files while coordinating and supporting all file management activities, including file opening/closing and billing.

Communicating with clients, colleagues, outside counsel, third party service providers, court and registry personnel.

Working in a team environment to assist in the daily functions of a corporate and general practice group while being creative, sharing ideas, learning from others, and contributing your skills and knowledge.

Challenging yourself and your team every day; and having fun while doing so!



The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:





The ideal candidate will have a Paralegal or Legal Administration diploma or other related education.

Experience working in corporate law and commercial transactions will be considered an asset.

Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office and a genuine interest in keeping up to date with the newest technology.

Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism, ensuring client confidentiality.

Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a strong focus on client service.

Manages competing priorities and deadlines while staying composed, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
